1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Daybowl iOS app and the Daybowl support website handle information. In this policy, “Daybowl,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the app provider identified on Daybowl’s App Store listing.
The app is local-first. Daybowl does not operate a user-account system, cloud-sync service, advertising network, analytics service, or developer backend for this release. Information used by the app remains on your device. The website hosting and optional support-email practices are described separately below.
2. Information stored on your device
Daybowl may store the following locally so its features work:
- an optional display name;
- onboarding, food-preference, beginner-mode, and safety selections;
- reset start date, daily progress, meal completion, and recipe swaps;
- saved recipes, saved ingredients, saved learning items, shopping-list checks, and manually added shopping items;
- cook-session step and timer progress;
- display preferences, reminder settings, and local notification schedules; and
- the on-device status of a Daybowl Premium purchase.
This information is used to provide app functionality. It is not transmitted to or stored on a Daybowl-operated server.
3. Apple services
In-App Purchases
Premium purchases and restorations use Apple’s StoreKit and your Apple Account. Apple processes payment information under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. Daybowl reads the transaction status needed to unlock Premium on your device; it does not receive your payment-card details or maintain its own purchase database.
Local notifications
If you enable meal or preparation reminders, iOS manages the permission and scheduled notifications on your device. Daybowl does not use push-notification servers.
App Store information
Apple may provide developers with sales, performance, diagnostic, or App Analytics information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. Daybowl does not add its own analytics or tracking SDK.
4. What Daybowl does not collect
The app does not transmit personal information, health information, recipe activity, shopping activity, or precise location to Daybowl. It does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, social-login, camera, microphone, photo-library, contacts, or location features.
Under Apple’s App Store privacy definition, app activity processed only on your device is not “collected” by Daybowl. A “Data Not Collected” App Store response is accurate only while the final submitted binary keeps these practices unchanged. Apple separately handles information required to operate the App Store and StoreKit.
5. Website hosting
The production Daybowl website is configured for Vercel hosting; a local filesystem preview does not contact Vercel. Vercel-hosted previews and, after deployment, the production site may process ordinary hosting and security information such as your IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, and request time under Vercel’s Privacy Notice. Provider-managed preview protection or deployment tooling may also use essential cookies or inject preview-only tooling; the unprotected production deployment must be reviewed before publication.
The checked-in Daybowl pages do not add advertising or analytics trackers, and Daybowl does not use these requests to build an activity profile. Hosting records are retained according to the provider’s operational and security practices.
6. Information you send to support
If you email amitg@colorblast.in, your email provider and ours process your email address and the content you send. This communication is optional and takes place outside the app.
Do not send medical records, payment-card information, passwords, or other sensitive information. Support messages may be retained while we respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and meet legitimate recordkeeping obligations, then deleted when no longer needed. You may request deletion of a support conversation by emailing us, subject to any legal requirement to retain it.
7. Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your device until you delete it in Daybowl, reset the relevant preference, or uninstall the app. The app’s Settings screen provides a control to delete Daybowl’s local profile and progress data. Uninstalling the app also removes its local app container, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior controlled by Apple.
You can turn notifications off in Daybowl or in iOS Settings. Deleting local app data also cancels Daybowl’s pending local reminders.
8. Security and international processing
Keeping app data on the device limits transmission and remote access, but no device or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode and current software.
When you contact support, email-service providers may process your message in countries other than your own under their applicable safeguards and policies.
9. Children
Daybowl is designed for adults and is not a meal plan for infants or children. It is not directed to children. If any component is served to a child, a parent or guardian should supervise eating and adapt its shape, size, and texture to reduce choking risk, as well as supervise cooking, food choices, and use of the app.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Daybowl’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date above will identify the current version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate notice in the app or on this website.
